Meet Dr. Tara Johansen

Enhancing My Sports Performance

Dr. Tara with husbandDr. Tara Johansen always wanted to be a healthcare professional. She had seen a chiropractor since she was young, and chiropractic care always helped enhance her athletic performance. She ran competitive track in high school and she eventually went on to study the sciences at the University of North Dakota. Although she didn’t have any pain, she continued to get adjusted for the purpose of staying healthy and injury-free while training at such an intense level.

Dr. J knew she wanted to be a part of a profession where she could enhance the lives of others. Her family chiropractor knew of the desire she had to become a parent and thought chiropractic would be a wonderful choice. “I could have a family and still work a profession I was passionate about,” says Dr. J.

A Life-Changing College Choice

Dr. J liked the natural, holistic approach to health. She appreciated the advantages that eating healthy and avoiding drugs and surgery gave her life. She decided that chiropractic was the right choice for her and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. J completed her internship at the Palmer Chiropractic Clinic in Davenport, Iowa. There she worked first-hand with some of the nation’s foremost physicians in the fields of radiology, orthopedics, neurology and rehabilitation. It was there she met her husband, Dr. Spence.

Dr. J holds a Bachelor of Science degree in the Health Sciences and her Doctorate in Chiropractic. She specializes in weight loss and proper nutrition and runs the ChiroThin weight loss program at The Spine Group. Dr. J is a member of the Virginia Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Association.
